On Tuesday, with over 1,800 fatalities registered, the United States recorded the most deaths from coronavirus in a single day.
According to data from Johns Hopkins University, it brings the total number of deaths within the country to nearly 13,000. The United States has the highest number of coronavirus infections in the world, with more than 402,000 confirmed cases. Global coronavirus cases currently stand at more than 1.4 million.
However, President Donald Trump said at a news conference that the United States would get to the top of the “curve” soon.
A recent report published by the University of Washington on Wednesday expected a lower overall death count in the US, predicting that 60,000 Americans could die from COVID-19.
