Apple has finally formally announced the iPhone SE, a low-cost iPhone that will start at $399 for the 64 GB storage version. The phone is almost identical to the iPhone 8, meaning it has a 4.7-inch screen, wide bezels on top and bottom, and a Touch ID home button.
The phone will be available for pre-order this Friday, April 17, and will begin shipping on April 24. The 128GB variant will cost $449, with the 256GB version costing $549.
The iPhone SE is effectively an iPhone 8 that has a better camera, processor, and a cheaper price tag. While it’s a fairly old design, it will feature Apple’s A13 Bionic chip, which is the same chip used in the new iPhone 11 and 11 Pro versions., and a 7-megapixel camera on the front.
Some of the latest iPhone SE components are identical to the iPhone 8. The phone will have the same battery life as the iPhone 8, although no details regarding the precise size of the battery have been revealed. The phone will reportedly come with a 4.7-inch IPS Retina LCD panel with True Tone lighting.
The phone comes with just a small 5W charger in the pack, but if you have the right adapter, it will support 18W fast charging. Additionally, the phone uses a Lightning charging cable, which also supports Qi wireless charging. The phone does not feature a headphone jack, but Lightning headphones do come with the phone.
