According to research from Johns Hopkins University, more than 2 million coronavirus cases have been identified worldwide. The U.S. accounts for over 30 percent of all cases, with over 600,000 being reported nationwide.

Moreover, nations replied with concern when President Trump announced Tuesday that he is instructing his government to suspend payments to the World Health Organization following an investigation into how the agency treated the spread of the virus.

UN Secretary-General António Guterres said in a statement:

Now is not the time to reduce the resources for the operations of the World Health Organization or any other humanitarian organization in the fight against the virus.
