According to a source, Apple is developing compact over-ear wireless headphones with swappable magnetic components. The California-based giant’s latest headphones will come in several versions and feature AirPods Pro-like wireless compatibility and support for noise cancellation.

Apple has reportedly been working on its over-ear headphones since at least 2018, and sometime later this year, the latest model may debut. Apple’s over-ear headphones will come with replaceable earpads and headband padding, which is magnetically connected

The headphone will also reportedly come in two versions, a luxurious edition with leather-like fabrics, and another with smoother, breathable materials with small perforations.

In regards to the underlying technology, Apple’s latest headphones are said to have identical wireless-pairing and noise-canceling features as you get on the AirPods Pro. In addition to some advanced touch functions, Siri integration can be expected.

Reports noted that the over-ear headphones have a retro feel and look with oval-shaped ear cups that swivel and a headband connected by thin, metal arms. The actual product may have some differences.
