Google Duo has revealed that the program will get new features in the coming weeks. The updates arrive as an increasing number of people use video chatting software amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. In a blog post, Google highlighted that Duo is adding a Duo Moments snapshot feature that will allow users to take screenshots during a video call.
The video calling app will also increase the number of participants allowed during a group video call. Currently, a maximum of 12 people can use the group call feature.
In the blog post, published on Tuesday, Google noted that its Duo software is attracting approximately 10 million new users a week, while in many countries, the call minutes on the software “have increased more than tenfold.” With this growth in traffic, Google has confirmed that it is improving video quality and increasing overall app security.
Duo users will now be able to store video and voice messages that previously vanished within one day of sending.
