Fourteen further cases of coronavirus infections have been confirmed on an Italian cruise ship docked for repair at the prefecture of Nagasaki in Japan, taking the toll to 48.
As of Wednesday, 34 crew members had tested positive for the latest coronavirus on the Costa Atlantica, raising questions about the effect on the local population.
Authorities announced that the cruise ship is carrying 623 crew members and no passengers.
