Colombia: Coronavirus lockdown extended by two weeks

Colombia’s lockdown is set to be extended by a further two weeks as it tries to contain the spread of the new coronavirus, President Ivan Duque announced on Tuesday.

The lockdown was started on 24 March and was extended twice in the country. In total, there have been 8,600 confirmed coronavirus cases, along with 378 fatalities. The lockdown was set to end on Monday.

Sectors such as manufacturing, car, and furniture sellers, can begin reopening, Duque added.
