Honor X10 5G: Launch Date, Specifications Leaked

Honor is adding 5G capabilities to its affordable X smartphone series, starting on May 20 with the Honor X10.

The Honor X10 is set to succeed the Honor 9X revealed late last year. The naming scheme was changed to avoid a clash with the new smartphone series, the Redmi 10X.

The Honor X10 will be a low-end, budget phone, as opposed to previous versions. In particular, the Huawei Kirin 820 SoC, together with an integrated 5G modem, will power the phone. The phone is expected to have the same performance as the flagship Kirin 980 and Snapdragon 855.

The design of the smartphone was released via a TENAA listing in China, suggesting looks very similar to the recently unveiled Honor 30 family. The display is expected to span 6.63-inches diagonally, with a Full HD+ resolution. As for security, there will be a fingerprint scanner that is embedded in the power button. There is no mention of the refresh rate of the phone.

The phone will have a custom 40MP Sony IMX600y image sensor on the rear of the phone, followed by an ultrawide 8MP camera, a macro lens, and a depth sensor. The front of the phone will feature a 16MP camera.

The phone will be powered by a 4,200mAh battery with support for 22.5W fast charging via USB Type-C port. The phone will run Honor’s custom skin atop Android 10, although Google services won’t be accessible.

Details on pricing and availability have not yet been revealed.
