On Friday, Google said that it requested workers to take a day off on May 22, amid the coronavirus pandemic, to tackle work-related burnout from home.

Chief Executive, Sundar Pichai, announced the holiday on late Thursday in a memo to staff.

Google said it would start reopening more offices worldwide as early as June, although most Google staff will still be operating from home until the end of this year.

On Friday, Facebook also announced that it would allow staff who can operate remotely to do so until the end of the year.
