On Saturday, Giuseppe Conte, Italian PM, announced that Italy would be taking a calculated risk in easing lockdown restrictions starting from next week.
Conte said in a press conference:
“We’re facing a calculated risk, knowing that the epidemiological curve could rise again,”
With shops expected to open from Monday, Conte said travel between countries of the European Union would be permitted from June 3 onwards, without a quarantine period for those who enter Italy.
Gyms, swimming pools, fitness centers will begin to re-open starting May 25, with theatres and cinemas re-opening from June 15.
