On Saturday, President Alberto Fernandez announced that Argentina was prolonging a compulsory lockdown in the capital, Buenos Aires, until June 7, amid a rapid rise in coronavirus infections over the past few days.
Argentina’s lockdown, which was set to end on Sunday, has been in effect since March 20, though authorities in certain parts of the country have eased certain lockdown constraints.
