Starting from Monday, more than 2 million people in England who have been in self-isolation after being considered as being clinically vulnerable to COVID-19, will be allowed to leave their homes with other members of their households, although they will have to continue following social distancing measures.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson said in a statement:
I do not underestimate just how difficult it has been for you, staying at home for the last 10 weeks, and I want to pay tribute to your resilience,
However, people who are leaving their homes from the lockdown are still at risk, and can only leave the house once a day and not go to work or stores while also avoiding busy places, where it is not possible to social distance.
Support for those who are vulnerable will continue, such as the delivery of food, medicines, and phone calls.
