On Monday, Moscow residents will be able to take a walk outside for the first time after a nine-week lockdown, under a partial lockdown relaxation after a decline in new coronavirus cases.
Last week, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin informed President Vladimir Putin that he would loosen certain lockdown rules in Russia’s capital and that a select few shops could re-open.
Shops in Moscow, which were forced to shut in late March, are also expected to re-open, including car dealerships, dry cleaners, shoe repair shops, book shops, and launderettes.
Residents will be permitted to go out on specified days three times a week for walks, which are determined by the address they reside at. People can also go jogging or do outdoor sports, but only between 5 am and 9 am, officials announced.
Most parks and Shopping centers, both of which have been shut for weeks, will also open starting Monday, while children’s play areas inside them and sports facilities will stay closed.
