On Sunday, Taiwan announced that they would be further easing restrictions related to the control of the coronavirus, as the island kept the outbreak under control, with only 6 active cases and no local transmission for 56 days.
Taiwan has not gone into total lockdown yet, and due to its early and effective coronavirus prevention measures and good public health system, life has remained largely normal. Despite the country not going into a full lockdown, social distancing measures have been put in place, and face masks have been encouraged.
The Central Epidemic Command Center in Taiwan said it would constraints restricting the number of individuals who could take part in “daily life and leisure events,” although people will continue to be encouraged to wear face masks.
Limits on border entry are still in place, with officials fearful of a second wave of infections.
