
Microsoft Teams, Microsoft’s video conferencing software, is providing a range of new updates, including the option to use personalized images as background photos during conference calls. The function is accessible to consumers of the free edition of the app. Users of the free version of Microsoft Teams users can now also schedule meetings and share links via Outlook or Google Calendar.
Microsoft is experiencing intense competition from rivals such as Zoom and Google Meet amid the coronavirus pandemic and is now trying hard to win over customers with new features and updates.
The company notes that users can personalize the background by uploading their own photos or by using one of their popular online background collections.
To select a new background during video calls, users have to select More actions on the screen > Show background effects > Click on Add new.
Users of the free edition can now also arrange meetings and send out invitations in advance. Meeting organizers can either copy the meeting link to send directly to other participants or send an invite via Outlook or Google calendar.
