On Thursday, the Costa Rica Government announced that it would reopen two of its airports from August 1, even as Costa Rica registered its daily highest number of coronavirus infections to date, to tourists in the European Union, the United Kingdom, and Canada.
Costa Rican Minister of Tourism, Gustavo Segura, said the Juan Santamaria airport and the Daniel Oduber airport would reopen in north-eastern Costa Rica after closing in March and said that the two had the sanitary procedures in place to resume operations.
