
On Wednesday, Victoria witnessed the most catastrophic day of COVID-19 deaths and infections, with 15 fatalities being confirmed overnight, as well as 725 new infections.
Among the fatalities were three men and a woman in their 70s, three women and a man in their 80s and one woman in their 90s.
There are 538 Victoria Residents currently in hospital with the virus, with 42 in intensive care. A man in his 30s, who was is the youngest person to die from the virus in Australia, was confirmed to not be a healthcare worker by the premier, Daniel Andrews.
The coronavirus death toll in Australia currently stands at 162.
