On Friday, Mexico’s health ministry announced 6,717 new coronavirus infections and 794 deaths, taking the total infection toll to 469,407 cases and the death toll to 51,311.
Due to low testing rates, officials have claimed that the true coronavirus infection rate in Mexico is likely much higher than reported.
