
On Tuesday, Polish Health Minister, Lukasz Szumowski announced that he was resigning, marking the second resignation from the Ministry in two days, which has faced a lot of criticism for the treatment of the coronavirus pandemic.
The news came one day after Deputy Minister Janusz Cieszynski announced that he would be leaving the ministry.
Szumowski told a news confrence:
“I would like to inform you that today I am resigning …I decided it was that time,”
Szumowski denied any wrongdoing while fighting the coronavirus pandemic in Poland, and that his resignation had nothing to do with allegations regarding his treatment of the virus.
