On Sunday, worldwide coronavirus infections topped 25 million, with deaths also passing 840,000.

India launched the global caseload to this grim milestone after 78,761 new coronavirus infections were reported, making up for the worst day of reported cases.

Currently, the United States, Brazil, Mexico, and India are leading coronavirus deaths, with a combined death toll of more than 430,000.

While several countries in the region are starting to see a small decrease in infections, Latin America continues to lead coronavirus infections, with approximately 5.97 million recorded cases.

Health officials have repeatedly emphasized that the true number of infected individuals is most likely much higher than published figures, particularly in countries with limited testing capabilities.
