Doctors monitoring and treating Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny claim that he is now out of a medically induced coma and is responding to verbal stimuli.
Alexei Navalny, age 44, was airlifted to Germany after he collapsed on a flight from Tomsk to Moscow in Siberia in August.
The Charité hospital in Berlin said in a statement:
“He is responding to verbal stimuli. It remains too early to gauge the potential long-term effects of his severe poisoning,”
The hospital added that Navalny was gradually being removed from mechanical ventilation.
