On Monday, India reported over 90,000 new coronavirus infections, bringing its total caseload above that of Brazil.
The newly reported coronavirus infections take the total infection toll in the country to 4,204,613. India currently has 71,642 confirmed coronavirus fatalities, the third-highest worldwide.
The increase in infections comes as the government continues to relax constraints in an attempt to improve an economy that lost millions of workers when the virus struck in mid-March.
