On Tuesday, the Zimbabwe government announced that from Sept. 10, domestic flights would resume in an attempt at helping the struggling tourism sector, with international flights resuming from Oct. 1. Travelers must have a COVID-19 clearance certificate to fly.
Zimbabwe closed its borders and suspended flights in March in an attempt at stemming additional coronavirus outbreaks. In total, Zimbabwe has reported approximately 7,298 coronavirus infections as well as 218 fatalities.
The government said in a statement:
“All travellers will be required to have a PCR COVID-19 clearance certificate issued by a recognised facility within 48 hours from the date of departure,”
