On Tuesday, the Netherlands reported 13,471 new coronavirus infections, marking the highest rise in cases since the pandemic began.
Jaap van Dissel, head of the National Institute for Health, said in testimony:
“We can now see the second wave,”
“We must get the feeling of urgency back,”
Previously on Sunday, Prime Minister Mark Rutte proposed small new steps to slow the spread of the outbreak by prohibiting groups of more than 50 individuals and enforcing the mandatory closure of bars after 1 AM.
