On Thursday, total coronavirus infections in the United States surpassed 7 million, with an average of 40,000 new infections reported per day, making up for more than 20% of the global caseload.
Just days prior, the United States topped 200,000 confirmed COVID-19 fatalities, making up for the highest death toll from the disease worldwide.
The United States currently leads global infections, with India following close behind with approximately 5.7 million confirmed cases and Brazil with 4.6 million confirmed cases.
In total, the U.S. has reported 7,185,471 coronavirus infections as well as 207,538 fatalities.
