On Thursday, Sao Paulo initiated a widespread COVID-19 testing campaign for public school workers and students in an attempt at allowing schools to reopen following their closure on March 23.
Approximately 777,000 individuals will be tested in a three-stage process, a crucial step that will hopefully allow in-person classes to restart.
In total, Brazil has reported 4,849,229 coronavirus cases, as well as 144,767 fatalities.
