On Tuesday, United States President Donald Trump claimed that Americans are finally learning to cope with COVID-19.

Previously on Monday, Trump returned to the White House via his Marine One helicopter after almost four days at Walter Reed Medical Center outside Washington following a positive COVID-19 test.

Trump tweeted on Tuesday:

Flu season is coming up! Many people every year, sometimes over 100,000, and despite the Vaccine, die from the Flu. Are we going to close down our Country? No, we have learned to live with it, just like we are learning to live with Covid, in most populations far less lethal!!!

Repeatedly, Trump has disregarded social-distancing laws and dismissed medical advisors and top scientists.

The novel coronavirus was first discovered in Wuhan, Hubei, China, on Dec. 31, 2019, and has infected more than 35 million individuals worldwide, resulting in over 1.2 million fatalities across 188 countries and territories.

In total, the United States has reported 7,682,785 coronavirus infections and 215,127 fatalities.
