On Wednesday, Ottawa reported 117 new COVID-19 infections, pushing the infection toll in the country to 172,806. No new fatalities were reported.
In total, Canada has reported 172,806 cases of the novel coronavirus and 9,538 fatalities.
The novel coronavirus was first discovered in Wuhan, Hubei, China, on Dec. 31, 2019, and has infected more than 36 million individuals worldwide, resulting in over 1.2 million fatalities across 188 countries and territories.
