Netherlands: 6,499 new COVID-19 infections, 23 fatalities reported

On Saturday, the Netherlands reported 6,499 new COVID-19 infections and 23 additional fatalities, marking a record daily rise in coronavirus cases.

The novel coronavirus was first discovered in Wuhan, Hubei, China, on Dec. 31, 2019, and has infected more than 35 million individuals worldwide, resulting in over 1.2 million fatalities across 188 countries and territories.

In total, the Netherlands has reported 168,280 COVID-19 cases and 6,567 fatalities.
