On Tuesday, the United Kingdom reported 17,234 new COVID-19 infections and 143 additional fatalities, the highest daily rise in deaths since June.
In total, the United Kingdom has reported 634,920 cases of the novel coronavirus and 43,018 fatalities.
The novel coronavirus was first discovered in Wuhan, Hubei, China, on Dec. 31, 2019, and has infected more than 37 million individuals worldwide, resulting in over 1.3 million fatalities across 188 countries and territories.
