On Friday, the UK reported 15,650 new coronavirus infections and 136 additional fatalities, a significant drop in cases from 18,980 a day prior.
Health officials also reported 136 additional coronavirus related fatalities.
In total, the United Kingdom has reported 689,257 cases of the novel coronavirus and 43,429 fatalities.
The novel coronavirus was first discovered in Wuhan, Hubei, China, on Dec. 31, 2019, and has infected more than 38 million individuals worldwide, resulting in over 1.3 million fatalities across 188 countries and territories.
