The 137 new asymptomatic cases were all linked to a garment factory and were discovered after a worker previously tested positive for the virus.
In total, mainland China has reported 85,810 COVID-19 cases and 4,634 coronavirus related fatalities.
Top scientists and analysts have said that the total number of individuals infected is likely to be much higher than published figures due to testing and tracing issues and potential under-reporting by the government.
