Germany: 14,844 new COVID-19 infections, 54 fatalities reported

On Thursday, Germany reported 14,844 new COVID-19 infections and 54 additional fatalities, all of which occurred over the past 24 hours.

In total, Germany has reported 494,465 COVID-19 cases and 10,413 coronavirus related fatalities.

The United States is currently leading global COVID-19 cases with over 9.1 million infections and 233,545 fatalities, although India follows closely behind with 8 million cases and 120,913 deaths. As for the third-highest case toll and death toll, Brazil follows with 5.4 million cases and 158,611 deaths, Russia with 1.5 million cases and 27,301 deaths, and France with 1.2 million cases and 35,785 coronavirus related deaths.

The novel coronavirus was first discovered in Wuhan, Hubei, China, on Dec. 31, 2019, and has infected more than 45 million individuals worldwide, resulting in over 1.3 million fatalities across 216 countries and territories.
