Indonesia: 2,897 new COVID-19 infections, 81 fatalities reported

On Friday, Indonesia reported 2,897 new COVID-19 infections and 81 additional fatalities, all of which occurred over the past 24 hours.

In total, Indonesia has reported 406,945 COVID-19 cases and 13,782 coronavirus related deaths.

The United States is currently leading global COVID-19 cases with over 9.2 million infections and 234,201 fatalities, although India follows closely behind with 8 million cases and 121,131 deaths. As for the third-highest case toll and death toll, Brazil follows with 5.4 million cases and 159,033 deaths, Russia with 1.5 million cases and 27,656 deaths, and France with 1.2 million cases and 36,020 coronavirus related deaths.

The novel coronavirus was first discovered in Wuhan, Hubei, China, on Dec. 31, 2019, and has infected more than 45 million individuals worldwide, resulting in over 1.3 million fatalities across 216 countries and territories.
