Belgium: 20,056 new COVID-19 infections, 144 fatalities reported

On Saturday, Belgium reported 20,056 new COVID-19 infections and 144 additional fatalities, all of which occurred over the past 24 hours.

In total, Belgium has reported 412,314 COVID-19 cases and 11,452 coronavirus related fatalities.

The United States is currently leading global COVID-19 cases with over 9.3 million infections and 235,159 fatalities, although India follows closely behind with 8.1 million cases and 121,681 deaths. As for the third-highest case toll and death toll, Brazil follows with 5.5 million cases and 159,562 deaths, Russia with 1.5 million cases and 27,656 deaths, and France with 1.3 million cases and 36,565 coronavirus related deaths.

The novel coronavirus was first discovered in Wuhan, Hubei, China, on Dec. 31, 2019, and has infected more than 45 million individuals worldwide, resulting in over 1.3 million fatalities across 216 countries and territories.
