
On Saturday, Germany reported 13,842 new COVID-19 infections and 59 additional fatalities, all of which occurred over the past 24 hours.
In total, Germany has reported 531,562 COVID-19 cases and 10,582 coronavirus related fatalities.
The United States is currently leading global COVID-19 cases with over 9.3 million infections and 235,797 fatalities, although India follows closely behind with 8.1 million cases and 122,135 deaths. As for the third-highest case toll and death toll, Brazil follows with 5.5 million cases and 159,668 deaths, Russia with 1.6 million cases and 27,990 deaths, and France with 1.3 million cases and 36,565 coronavirus related deaths.
The novel coronavirus was first discovered in Wuhan, Hubei, China, on Dec. 31, 2019, and has infected more than 46 million individuals worldwide, resulting in over 1.3 million fatalities across 216 countries and territories.
