On Monday, Belgium reported 11,789 new COVID-19 infections and 112 additional fatalities, all of which occurred over the past 24 hours.
In total, Belgium has reported 441,018 COVID-19 cases and 11,737 coronavirus related fatalities.
The United States is currently leading global COVID-19 cases with over 9.4 million infections and 236,471 fatalities, although India follows closely behind with 8.2 million cases and 122,642 deaths. As for the third-highest case toll and death toll, Brazil follows with 5.5 million cases and 160,104 deaths, Russia with 1.6 million cases and 28,235 deaths, and France with 1.4 million cases and 37,019 coronavirus related deaths.
The novel coronavirus was first discovered in Wuhan, Hubei, China, on Dec. 31, 2019, and has infected more than 46 million individuals worldwide, resulting in over 1.3 million fatalities across 216 countries and territories.
