
On Sunday, Chile reported 1,581 new COVID-19 cases and 44 additional fatalities, all of which occurred over the past 24 hours.
In total, Chile has reported 521,558 COVID-19 cases and 14,543 coronavirus related fatalities.
The United States is currently leading global COVID-19 cases with over 10.1 million infections and 243,316 fatalities, although India follows closely behind with 8.5 million cases and 126,235 deaths. As for the third-highest case toll and death toll, Brazil follows with 5.6 million cases and 162,286 deaths, Russia with 1.7 million cases and 30,537 deaths, and France with 1.7 million cases and 40,169 coronavirus related deaths.
The novel coronavirus was first discovered in Wuhan, Hubei, China, on Dec. 31, 2019, and has infected more than 50 million individuals worldwide, resulting in over 1.3 million fatalities across 216 countries and territories.
