Brazil: 10,917 new COVID-19 cases, 231 fatalities reported

On Monday, Brazil reported 10,917 new COVID-19 cases and 231 additional fatalities, all of which occurred over the past 24 hours.

In total, Brazil has reported 5,675,032 COVID-19 cases and 162,628 coronavirus related fatalities.

The United States is currently leading global COVID-19 cases with over 10.3 million infections and 244,137 fatalities, although India follows closely behind with 8.5 million cases and 127,104 deaths. As for the third-highest caseload and death toll, Brazil follows with 5.6 million cases and 162,628 deaths, Russia with 1.7 million cases and 30,793 deaths, and France with 1.8 million cases and 40,987 coronavirus related deaths.

The novel coronavirus was first discovered in Wuhan, Hubei, China, on Dec. 31, 2019, and has infected more than 52 million individuals worldwide, resulting in over 1.3 million fatalities across 216 countries and territories.
