On Sunday, Mauritania reported six new COVID-19 cases, all of which occurred over the past 24 hours.
In total, Mauritania has reported 7,820 COVID-19 cases and 165 coronavirus related fatalities.
The United States is currently leading global COVID-19 cases with over 10.2 million infections and 243,740 fatalities, although India follows closely behind with 8.5 million cases and 126,653 deaths. As for the third-highest case toll and death toll, Brazil follows with 5.6 million cases and 162,397 deaths, Russia with 1.7 million cases and 30,537 deaths, and France with 1.7 million cases and 40,439 coronavirus related deaths.
The novel coronavirus was first discovered in Wuhan, Hubei, China, on Dec. 31, 2019, and has infected more than 50 million individuals worldwide, resulting in over 1.3 million fatalities across 216 countries and territories.
