
On Monday, South Korea reported 223 new COVID-19 cases and one additional death, all of which occurred over the past 24 hours.
In total, South Korea has reported 28,769 COVID-19 cases and 494 coronavirus related fatalities.
The United States is currently leading global COVID-19 cases with over 11.3 million infections and 251,832 fatalities, although India follows closely behind with 8.8 million cases and 130,109 deaths. As for the third-highest caseload and death toll, Brazil follows with 5.8 million cases and 165,811 deaths, France with 1.9 million cases and 44,548 deaths, and Russia with 1.9 million cases and 33,186 coronavirus related deaths.
The novel coronavirus was first discovered in Wuhan, Hubei, China, on Dec. 31, 2019, and has infected more than 54 million individuals worldwide, resulting in over 1.3 million fatalities across 216 countries and territories.
