In total, the United Kingdom has reported 1,527,495 COVID-19 cases and 55,230 coronavirus related fatalities.
The United States is currently leading global COVID-19 cases with over 12.6 million infections and 262,781 fatalities, although India follows closely behind with 9.1 million cases and 134,088 deaths. As for the third-highest caseload and death toll, Brazil follows with 6 million cases and 169,213 deaths, France with 2.1 million cases and 48,732 deaths, and Russia with 2.1 million infections and 36,540 deaths.
The novel coronavirus was first discovered in Wuhan, Hubei, China, on Dec. 31, 2019, and has infected more than 59 million individuals worldwide, resulting in over 1.3 million fatalities across 217 countries and territories.
