On Sunday, Syria reported 82 new COVID-19 cases and four additional fatalities, all of which occurred over the past 24 hours.
In total, Syria has reported 7,797 COVID-19 cases and 413 coronavirus related fatalities.
The United States is currently leading global COVID-19 cases with over 13.7 million infections and 272,932 fatalities, although India follows with 9.4 million cases and 137,177 deaths. As for the third-highest caseload and death toll, Brazil follows with 6.3 million cases and 172,833 deaths, Russia with 2.2 million cases and 39,527 deaths, and France with 2.2 million infections and 52,325 deaths.
The novel coronavirus was first discovered in Wuhan, Hubei, China, on Dec. 31, 2019, and has infected more than 63 million individuals worldwide, resulting in over 1.4 million fatalities across 217 countries and territories.
