Germany: 7,947 new COVID-19 cases, 130 fatalities reported

On Monday, Germany reported 7,947 new COVID-19 cases and 130 additional fatalities, all of which occurred over the past 24 hours.

In total, Germany has reported 1,063,554 COVID-19 cases and 16,663 coronavirus related fatalities.

The United States is currently leading global COVID-19 cases with over 13.8 million infections and 273,618 fatalities, although India follows with 9.4 million cases and 137,649 deaths. As for the third-highest caseload and death toll, Brazil follows with 6.3 million cases and 172,866 deaths, Russia with 2.2 million cases and 39,895 deaths, and France with 2.2 million infections and 52,731 deaths.

The novel coronavirus was first discovered in Wuhan, Hubei, China, on Dec. 31, 2019, and has infected more than 63 million individuals worldwide, resulting in over 1.4 million fatalities across 217 countries and territories.
