Brazil: 50,509 new COVID-19 cases, 652 fatalities reported

On Tuesday, Brazil reported 50,509 new COVID-19 cases and 652 additional fatalities, all of which occurred over the past 24 hours.

In total, Brazil has reported 6,388,526 COVID-19 cases and 173,862 coronavirus related fatalities.

The United States is currently leading global COVID-19 cases with over 14 million infections and 276,704 fatalities, although India follows with 9.4 million cases and 138,090 deaths. As for the third-highest caseload and death toll, Brazil follows with 6.3 million cases and 173,817 deaths, Russia with 2.3 million cases and 40,464 deaths, and France with 2.2 million infections and 53,506 deaths.

The novel coronavirus was first discovered in Wuhan, Hubei, China, on Dec. 31, 2019, and has infected more than 64 million individuals worldwide, resulting in over 1.4 million fatalities across 217 countries and territories.
