Canada: 3,549 new COVID-19 cases, 90 fatalities reported

On Wednesday, Canada reported 3,549 new COVID-19 cases and 90 additional fatalities, all of which occurred over the past 24 hours.

In total, Canada has reported 387,017 COVID-19 cases and 12,301 coronavirus related fatalities.

The United States is currently leading global COVID-19 cases with over 14.1 million infections and 278,690 fatalities, although India follows with 9.5 million cases and 138,628 deaths. As for the third-highest caseload and death toll, Brazil follows with 6.3 million cases and 173,979 deaths, Russia with 2.3 million cases and 41,053 deaths, and France with 2.2 million infections and 53,816 deaths.

The novel coronavirus was first discovered in Wuhan, Hubei, China, on Dec. 31, 2019, and has infected more than 64 million individuals worldwide, resulting in over 1.4 million fatalities across 217 countries and territories.
