On Thursday, the United Kingdom reported 35,383 new COVID-19 cases and 532 additional fatalities, all of which occurred over the past 24 hours.
In total, the United Kingdom has reported 1,948,660 COVID-19 cases and 66,052 coronavirus related fatalities.
The United States is currently leading global COVID-19 cases with over 17.5 million infections and 316,929 fatalities, although India trails behind with 9.9 million cases and 144,829 deaths. As for the third-highest caseload and death toll, Brazil follows with 7.1 million cases and 184,826 deaths, Russia with 2.7 million cases and 49,151 deaths, and France with 2.4 million infections and 59,619 deaths.
The novel coronavirus was first discovered in Wuhan, Hubei, China, on Dec. 31, 2019, and has infected more than 75.1 million individuals worldwide, resulting in over 1.6 million fatalities across 218 countries and territories.
