United States: 186,277 new COVID-19 cases, 2,114 fatalities reported

On Friday, the United States reported 186,277 new COVID-19 cases and 2,114 additional fatalities, all of which occurred over the past 24 hours.

In total, the United States has reported 17,819,950 COVID-19 cases and 320,165 coronavirus related fatalities.

The United States is currently leading global COVID-19 cases with over 17.8 million infections and 320,165 fatalities, although India trails behind with 10 million cases and 145,171 deaths. As for the third-highest caseload and death toll, Brazil follows with 7.1 million cases and 185,650 deaths, Russia with 2.7 million cases and 49,762 deaths, and France with 2.4 million infections and 60,229 deaths.

The novel coronavirus was first discovered in Wuhan, Hubei, China, on Dec. 31, 2019, and has infected more than 75.9 million individuals worldwide, resulting in over 1.6 million fatalities across 218 countries and territories.
