United States: 189,164 new COVID-19 cases, 3,045 fatalities reported

On Wednesday, the United States reported 189,164 new COVID-19 cases and 3,045 additional fatalities, all of which occurred over the past 24 hours.

In total, the United States has reported 20,171,605 COVID-19 cases and 349,943 coronavirus related fatalities.

The United States is currently leading global COVID-19 cases with over 20.1 million infections and 349,943 fatalities, although India trails behind with 10.2 million cases and 148,774 deaths. As for the third-highest caseload and death toll, Brazil follows with 7.6 million cases and 193,875 deaths, Russia with 3.1 million cases and 56,426 deaths, and France with 2.6 million infections and 64,381 deaths.

The novel coronavirus was first discovered in Wuhan, Hubei, China, on Dec. 31, 2019, and has infected more than 82.9 million individuals worldwide, resulting in over 1.8 million fatalities across 218 countries and territories.
