Russia: 23,315 new COVID-19 cases, 436 fatalities reported

On Monday, Russia reported 23,315 new COVID-19 cases and 436 additional fatalities, all of which occurred over the past 24 hours.

In total, Russia has reported 3,425,269 COVID-19 cases and 62,273 coronavirus related fatalities.

Russia confirmed its first cases on COVID-19 on 31 January 2020 after two people tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

The United States is currently leading global COVID-19 cases with over 22.9 million infections and 383,275 fatalities, although India trails behind with 10.4 million cases and 151,198 deaths. As for the third-highest caseload and death toll, Brazil follows with 8.1 million cases and 203,140 deaths, Russia with 3.4 million cases and 62,273 deaths, and the UK with 3 million infections and 81,431 deaths.

The novel coronavirus was first discovered in Wuhan, Hubei, China, on Dec. 31, 2019, and has infected more than 90.7 million individuals worldwide, resulting in over 1.9 million fatalities across 218 countries and territories.
